WuJie Fangcun 30-Cell Braille Display
1. Product Specifications
The WuJie Fangcun 30-Cell is a single-line, portable 6-dot Braille display that connects via Bluetooth to computers and smartphones. It converts digital information into Braille through screen reader software and the self-developed Bookstore APP.
Basic Device Specifications:
Dimensions: 209mm × 75mm × 28mm | Weight: 469g
Length approximates the distance from fingertips to wrist.
Features an aluminum alloy casing that withstands drops from desk height.
Front Identification:
When the Type-C charging port is at the top-left and the sliding power switch is at the top-right, this side faces upward as the device front.
2. Basic Operation & Voice Wake-Up

Power On: Slide the power switch left to turn on, accompanied by a "beep-beep" startup sound.

Core Physical Module: The central front area houses the 30-cell single-line 6-dot Braille display module. A protective film covers the module to prevent dust/debris damage—this film does not affect usage. Do not remove it.

Page Navigation: Page Up/Down keys are centered below the display module. Audible page-turn alerts are enabled by default. Long-press both Page Up and Page Down keys simultaneously to toggle these alerts on/off.

Speakers on both sides; brand Braille "WuJie" is marked near the right speaker.

Check Battery Level: View in the Bookstore connection interface or wake the device with: "Hello Zhichi, check battery"

Reading Precautions:

Wait for Braille dots to fully refresh before touching the display. Contact during refresh may cause dot elevation errors.

If Braille appears incomplete due to accidental touch, press both Page Up and Page Down keys simultaneously to refresh the display.

Voice Commands:
Wake word: "Hello Zhichi"
Wait 1–2 seconds for the device response, then state your command:

Check status: "Check battery"/ "Check volume"

Adjust volume: "Increase volume"/ "Decrease volume"(5-level adjustment, ±20 per step; device announces current level)

Mute control: "Turn on mute mode"/ "Turn off mute mode"

Set fixed volume: "Set to max volume (100)"/ "Set to min volume (20)"/ "Set to medium volume (60)"

Action-Based Shortcuts:

Mute Toggle: Long-press both Page Up and Page Down keys to enable/disable mute mode.

Charging Alerts: Voice prompt plays when charger is plugged in/unplugged.

Battery Warnings: Full charge triggers "Battery full". Low battery warnings occur at 20%, 10%, and 5%.

Bluetooth Alerts: Voice prompts confirm Bluetooth connection/disconnection.

3. Core Feature 1: Connecting to WuJie Bookstore
The device pairs via Bluetooth with the WuJie Bookstore (available for computers/mobile devices). Compatible with Windows, Android, macOS, and iOS. The bookstore offers:

Universal Setup Guide (Same for computer/mobile; demonstrated on computer):
(Note: First-time users select My > Login > Verification Code Login on the bookstore page. Login automatically registers your account.)
Two bookstore versions exist—layouts differ but operations are identical.

Ensure the Braille display is powered off. Open the bookstore, navigate to My > Braille Display Settings (left-side menu includes My, Bookstore, Bookshelf, Favorites & Learning).

Power on the Braille display’s Bluetooth. When the device appears on the bookstore page, click Pair.

First-time pairing: A pop-up requests connection permission. Click Allow and wait for automatic pairing (confirmed by a prompt tone). Battery level displays here.

Troubleshooting: If no pop-up appears, delete the device from your system Bluetooth list and retry Step 2.

Top-right functions: Upload Book, Braille Translation, Software Settings. Click Upload Book to submit any document format, select translation type, and await processing.

Processed books appear under the Private section. Double-click to download → books save to your Bookshelf. Click Read after download to view content instantly on the Braille display.
4. Core Feature 2: Screen Reader Compatibility
Computer Compatibility: NVDA, Zhengdu Screen Reader, macOS/iOS VoiceOver
Mobile Compatibility: Jieshuo Screen Reader, iOS/Android VoiceOver (BaoYi Screen Reader and TalkBack support coming soon)

4.1 NVDA Screen Reader Setup

Access NVDA Settings:

Right-click the NVDA icon in the system tray → select Options > Settings

NVDA Key + N(default NVDA key:Insertor0on numpad when numlock is off) → Options > Settings

Install Plugin:

In Settings, go to Tools > Add-on Store → click OK on warning pop-up.

Select Install from external source (bottom-left) → locate the downloaded WuJie NVDA plugin → double-click.

Confirm installation if warned → exit settings. Restart NVDA when prompted.

Configure Braille Output:

Reopen NVDA Settings → Options > Settings > Braille.

Connect Device: Power on the Braille display. A success tone confirms connection. To disconnect, power off the device or set Braille output to "None" in NVDA.

Usage: Moving the cursor displays synchronized content. In text fields/Word docs/chat boxes, use the display’s Page Up/Down keys to navigate. At text boundaries, NVDA simulates cursor movements.

Switch Braille Language:

NVDA Settings → Braille → locate Output Table and Input Table → select your preferred language (supports current-standard Braille, Unified Braille, etc.).

4.2 VoiceOver Setup (Mobile)

Preparation: Enable VoiceOver and phone Bluetooth → power on the Braille display.

Manual Pairing: Go to phone Settings > Bluetooth → find WuJie Braille Display → tap to connect.

Confirmation: Voice prompt "Bluetooth connected"confirms success. Swiping display regions syncs with phone navigation. Use Page Up/Down keys to move between lines.

Display Logic: Text segments naturally with spacing indicated.
