WuJie - FangCun 16-Cell Braille Display
1. Product Specifications
The WuJie FangCun 16-Cell is a single-line, portable six-dot Braille display. It connects via Bluetooth to computers and smartphones, converting electronic information into Braille through screen reader software and the self-developed Bookstore APP.

Determining the Front of the Device:
When the Type-C charging port is at the top-left and the sliding power switch is at the top-right, this orientation is considered the front of the device.
2. Basic Operations

Power On: Swipe the sliding power switch left to turn on; an accompanying startup tone "beep beep" will sound.

Core Physical Module: The front features a 16-cell single-line six-dot Braille display module. A protective film covers the module to prevent dust and debris from entering and damaging it. This film does not affect usage; please do not tear it off.

Page Turning: Page-up and page-down buttons are located at both ends (head and tail) of the Braille module for faster navigation. The device has page-turning prompt sounds; simultaneously pressing both page-turning keys can disable these sounds.

Speakers are located on both sides of the device.

The brand name in Braille "WuJie" is marked next to the right speaker.

Reading Precautions:
-
Wait for the Braille dots to finish refreshing before touching to read. Touching the display area during the refresh process may cause abnormal raising of the Braille dots.

If Braille dots display incompletely due to accidental touch while reading, simultaneously press the up and down page-turning keys to refresh.

3. Core Function 1 – Connecting to WuJie Bookstore for Use
The device can connect via Bluetooth to use the WuJie Bookstore, which supports computer and mobile operations. It currently adapts to Windows, Android, Mac, and iOS operating systems. The bookstore contains over 80,000 Braille books, covering more than 30 book categories. It supports Braille language translation for 84 countries, including standard Chinese Braille, linear Braille, and double pinyin Braille. It also supports uploading books for translation.
General Usage Method (Same for computer/mobile, using computer as an example):
(Note: First-time login users, go to "Me" - select "Login" - choose "Verification Code Login." Logging in successfully registers the account.)
Currently, the bookstore has two versions; aside from layout differences, the operation process can refer to the following:

Enter the Bookstore page, click 「My」 on the left – select 「Braille Display Settings」.

Turn on the Braille display's Bluetooth switch. Once the device appears on the Bookstore page, click to pair. During the first pairing, a pop-up will appear requesting connection permission. Click "Allow," wait a moment, and it will automatically pair successfully with a prompt sound. You can view the Braille display's battery level on this page or directly wake the device via voice command to query battery level.
(Important Note: For the first bookstore connection, you must and can only connect by clicking the pop-up window. Any other connection method will result in the system not trusting the device. Only the first connection requires this pop-up prompt. If no pop-up appears, delete the Braille display device from your system's Bluetooth settings, then click connect in the bookstore again to trigger the pop-up.)

In the upper right corner of the Bookstore page, there are function buttons such as 「Upload Book」, 「Braille Translation」, and 「Software Settings」. Click 「Upload Book」 to upload files in docx, pdf, txt, epub formats. For Braille format, brf is supported. After uploading the document, select the translation type and wait for system processing.

Processed books will appear in the Bookstore's 「Private」 section. Double-click to open, click download, and the book will be saved to your bookshelf. After downloading is complete, click read, and the Braille display module will instantly show the book content.
4. Core Function 2 – Connecting to Screen Reader Software
Currently supported screen readers:

Computer: NVDA, Zhengdu Screen Reader, Computer VoiceOver.

Mobile: Jieshuo Screen Reader, Mobile VoiceOver.
(Adaptation for BaoYi Screen Reader and TalkBack is in progress.)
After connection, when the cursor moves to corresponding content, the Braille display will synchronously show the content. Specific connection and usage methods are as follows:
4.1 NVDA Screen Reader Connection and Usage

Enable Screen Reader: Open the settings page in two ways:

① Right-click the NVDA icon in the system tray in the lower right corner to bring up the menu.

② Press the
(NVDA key + n)combination key to bring up the main menu.(The NVDA key is the
0key on the numeric keypad when NumLock is off / theInsertkey by default.)Expand the 「Options (P)」 submenu, click 「Settings (S)... s」 to open the settings dialog box.

Install Compatible Plugin: In settings, click Tools (T), select Plugin Store (A). A plugin store warning will pop up; select OK. In the lower left corner of the screen, select Install from external source (X). Find the downloaded NVDA plugin, double-click to select it. If a plugin installation warning pops up asking whether to continue, select Yes (Y). Then exit the settings page, return to the main computer page. A pop-up will show that the plugin modification has been successfully applied, asking whether to restart NVDA. Select Yes (Y).

Modify System Settings: Re-enter the settings page. Expand the "Options (P)" submenu, click "Settings (S)... s" to open the settings dialog box. In the tab list within the settings dialog box, select "Braille". After opening the dialog box, press the down arrow key twice. Then press the Tab key; you will hear "Read-only multi-line No Braille display" indicating no Braille display output by default. Press Tab once more, and you will hear "Change (H)... Alt+h". Press Spacebar to pull up the selection list, use the up arrow key to find "WuJie Braille Display", press Enter to confirm. This enables the WuJie Braille display.

Screen Reader Connection: Turn on the Braille display. After a short wait, you will hear a connection success prompt. To disconnect, simply turn off the Braille display (it will auto-connect next time it's turned on) or set the Braille display to "None" in the settings.

Screen Reader Usage: Move the cursor to the corresponding position, and the Braille display synchronously displays the read-aloud content. In edit boxes, Word documents, chat boxes, etc., pressing the Braille display's up/down page-turning keys allows detailed browsing. When browsing reaches the text boundary, NVDA will simulate functions like clicking the down arrow key.

Switching Braille Language: Enter the settings page. Expand the "Options (P)" submenu, click "Settings (S)... s" to open the settings dialog box. In the tab list within the settings dialog box, select "Braille". After opening the dialog box, press the down arrow key twice. Then press the Tab key until you hear Output Table and Input Table. On this page, select the language you require. Supported languages include current standard Braille, common Braille, etc.
4.2 VoiceOver Connection and Usage

Connection Preparation: Ensure VoiceOver is turned on, phone Bluetooth is on, and the Braille display is powered on. The first connection requires manual pairing as follows.

Connection Method: Go to your phone's Settings > Bluetooth, find "WuJie braille display", and manually tap to connect to the Braille display's Bluetooth.

Post-Connection: Upon successful connection, the device will voice prompt "Bluetooth connected." At this point, switching display areas on your phone will also synchronously display on the Braille display. Using the Braille display's up/down page-turning keys can also control the phone to move between lines.

Display Logic: When using VoiceOver connection, word segmentation is implemented, following natural language segmentation, and space prompts will be included.

Switching Braille: Go to Settings > Accessibility > VoiceOver > Braille > Braille Tables > Chinese.
